COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Temperatures continue to run well above average for this time of year. We'll see highs this afternoon in the mid to upper 80s. Similar story through Saturday with some spots reaching the 90 degree mark.
A few clouds will build in this afternoon with a stray shower possible again. Our best rain chance is still expected by the weekend with a passing cold front on Sunday. A 50% chance of rain will enter the forecast with just showers and a few thunderstorms. I don't think we'll have widespread issues with severe weather at this point.
Cooler weather will follow the front - although the cool-down will be brief. Look for highs in the 70s Sunday and Monday with lows Monday and Tuesday morning in the 40s and 50s. We'll warm things back up to the mid 80 by the middle of next week.
