COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Families across the Chattahoochee Valley got some assistance Saturday morning at the fourth annual Autism Awareness Resource and Family Fun Day.

Over 20 vendors, advocacy agencies, and service providers were on hand at the Pop Austin Rec Center to meet with families to assist them with what resources are available for those with autism

Organizers say this event is huge for those families who need it.

"Once you get a diagnosis of autism it doesn't come with an instruction book so, so often families don't know where to turn. Each child is different, and because of that there are no hard and set rules about it so something like this is a godsend for them," says Diane Pope, President of Autism Hope Center.

The free event was also a time for children.

The Family Fund Day included bouncy houses, carnival games, food, face painting and a live DJ.
