COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – One in four women will be a victim of domestic violence during their lifetime.
Thursday evening, people joined together to raise money for this cause.
Hope Harbour hosted the annual Bidding for Hope Silent Auction.
Some of the items up for sale were anything from football tickets, trips, and artwork among other things.
Organizers say this is a great way to help with Hope Harbour's cause, which is to provide shelter and help to those affected by domestic violence.
"We are a 43-bed shelter for women and children who are fleeing violent situations, all of that money raised goes to them, and the services we provide to them," said Lindsey Reis, Executive Director for Hope Harbour.
This event took place at the W.C. Bradley Company Museum.
