(WTVM) - Ryan Bliss tossed a 2-hitter to lead the Troup Tigers to a 6-1 win over the West Hall Spartans on Saturday afternoon in the deciding Game 3 of their GHSA Class 4A first round playoff series. The game was played at Tiger Field in LaGrange.

The Hardaway Hawks also advanced, beating Burke County 10-6 on Saturday in Waynesboro in another Game 3 showdown.

That sets up a second round matchup between the Hawks and Tigers. The series will begin with a  Thursday doubleheader at Troup’s Tiger Field, time to be determined. A game three, if needed would be on Friday.

In other action, Brookstone’s season came to a close when the Cougars fell to George Walton Academy 8-1 in Monroe in a deciding Game 3. The loss eliminates Brookstone from the Class A-Private playoffs.

And in Alabama, Beauregard beat Demopolis 10-1 in a series decider to advance to the AHSAA Class 5A quarterfinals. The Hornets will host Rehobeth, with a doubleheader on Friday and the if-game set for Saturday.
