Opelika police searching for two counterfeit check theft suspects

OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) – The Opelika Police Department is looking for two counterfeit check theft suspects.

On March 21, police received a complaint of criminal possession of a forged instrument and theft of property in the third-degree that occurred at Walmart located at 2900 Pepperell Pkwy.

The counterfeit check was used to purchase electronics.

The first suspect is described as a white female between the ages of 25 to 35 years old and she was last seen wearing a black tank top with blue jeans.

The second suspect was described as a man between the ages of 25 and 35 years old. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt with “New York” written on the front and wearing a silver necklace.

    Columbus Police confirm to News Leader 9 a shooting happened at the intersection of Cusseta Road and 23rd Ave. Police say it happened around 9:30 p.m. One person was taken to Midtown Medical center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
