COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The Peachtree Mall Murder trial saw another delay after a juror was injured in a fall during a lunch break on Tuesday.

She was taken to the emergency room by ambulance. The extent of her injuries are not currently known, but plans are being made in the case she cannot return for jury duty.

In that scenario, an alternate juror would come in as a replacement. This would be the second alternate juror to be introduced in this trial.

An alternate juror had to be used after the jury foreman was dismissed on Friday.

Judge Frank Jordan took the action Friday after hearing reports the woman threatened several of her fellow jurors and refused to deliberate.

The judge dismissed the jurors after announcing the status of the injured juror and the accident at 3:30 p.m.

Everyone was told to return Wednesday at 9 a.m.
