COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A week after knocking off Hephzibah 16-0, Columbus High, the defending state runners-up, fell to Blessed Trinity at home 2-0 in the second round of the GHSA girls soccer playoffs.
It was a defensive contest early on, as neither team scored in the first half thanks to great saves from keepers Kayla Nickerson and Olivia Francis.
Blessed Trinity broke the scoreless tie early in the 2nd half as Cat Hamel found Taylor Rish with the cross. Rish headed it past Nickerson to make it 1-0
Not long after that, Blessed Trinity added another goal as Hamel took it herself for the games second goal.
Columbus High had no luck getting any points on the board and fell 2-0.
