COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Britt David Magnet Academy rolled out the red-carpet Wednesday to recognize a group of millionaire kindergarteners.

Students who have read one million words in a year dressed up like millionaires and got a ride in a limo to the front of the school.

They were welcomed by parents who were their paparazzi.

Principal Clara Davis says everyone loves the day celebrating reading in young children.

“The millionaire festivities are a long-time tradition at Britt David and the kindergarten's goal is to read a million words in the year,” said Principal Clara Davis.

After each student got out of the limo, an announcer introduced each millionaire, the numbers of books they have read based on reading logs and what they want to be when they grow up.
