Phenix City church participates in National Day of Prayer

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) – Thursday afternoon Epworth United Methodist Church in Phenix City held its annual community-wide service for the National Day of Prayer.

Phenix City Mayor Eddie Lowe along with other community and religious leaders said prayers for the Military, Government, and Families.

Rhonda Brooks a member of Epworth spoke to News Leader 9 about how prayer impacts her life.

"When you pray, you are having a conversion with the God of the universe. It's an awesome honor,” said Rhonda Brooks, Epworth United Methodist Church

In 1988 President Reagan signed into law designating the First Thursday in May as the annual observance for National Day of Prayer. This service was open to all.
