COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – With Congress addressing multiple bills on Capitol Hill, Muscogee County's U.S representative spent some time talking to his constituents.
Congressman Sanford Bishop hosted his own town hall inside the Columbus Public Library Tuesday evening.
Bishop answered questions the audience had written before the start of the event. During his talk, he pointed out several items he believes are concerns for the district— including agriculture, immigration, and the minimum wage.
"To have the minimum wage be stagnant as it has been, and the cost of everything else going up, it's really just not acceptable. So, I support the increase in minimum wage," said U.S. Rep. Sanford Bishop - 2nd District, GA.
Representative Bishop also fielded several questions relating to the Trump administration, particularly on climate change and healthcare.
Bishop told the audience he would continue voting on those issues keeping the district's best interests first.
