Weaver one shot off lead going into final round

Sydney Weaver of Columbus is one shot off the lead going into the final round of the NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Championship at the Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston.

Weaver shot even par-72 in Thursday’s third round to post a 54-hole score of 4-over 220. The senior at Berry College is tied for third with Macy Hubbard of Wittenberg University, one shot back of leaders Nikki Isaacson of Rhodes College and Christina Herbert of Bridgewater College.

Weaver, a former Brookstone Cougar, started on the 10th hole and struggled on the back nine, bogeying four holes. But the front nine was another story, with birdies on 1, 2, 5, and 7 to get her back to par.

She will tee off on the 10th hole at 10:45 am ET on Friday for the final round.
