Second defendant testifies in 4th Quarter Sports Bar murder trial

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A second defendant has taken the stand in an ongoing murder trial in Columbus.

Wheeler denies knowing anything about the Strikers being at the bar that night, calling it a mere coincidence that both the motorcycle groups ended up at the bar.

Daginald Wheeler told jurors Friday morning that he went home after the shooting at the 4th Quarter Sports Bar.

Prosecutors say gunfire erupted there in October of 2015, following an argument between two rival motorcycle clubs.

Wheeler is being cross-examined by the state, and he's charged along with Demark Ponder and James Daniels with killing Dominic Mitchell.

Ponder testified Thursday that he fired in self-defense.

The trial is set to resume Monday morning at 9 a.m.
