COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Rain is on the radar this afternoon and evening, and while we want you to have the umbrella just in case, know that it won't rain everywhere and won't be a washout.  Showers are a bit more likely overnight into early Saturday, but we will have some big improvements in the forecast to talk about by Mother's Day.

Be sure to check us out on the TV side of things today starting at 5 PM ET for more on the weekend forecast and details on what your Mother's Day plans might look like. You can also stream us LIVE on the weather app and follow Storm Team 9 on Facebook and Twitter.
