Jury begins deliberations in 4th Quarter Sports Bar murder trial

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – The jury has been charged and deliberations began Tuesday in the 4th Quarter Sports Bar murder trial.

The fate of the three men accused of killing 33-year-old Dominic Mitchell is now in the hands of the jury.

James Daniels, DeMark Ponder, and Daginald Wheeler are accused of killing Mitchell 18 months ago.

The three defendants all face charges of murder, robbery, aggravated assault, using a gun to commit a crime, and three counts of violating the street gang terrorism and prevention act.

Wheeler faces an additional count of violating the gang prevention act for his role as Outcast Motorcycle Club president.

Ponder is also charged with lying to police.

Closing arguments wrapped on Monday.

The jury was dismissed for the day around 4:15 p.m. and deliberations will continue Wednesday morning at 9.
