COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Two local organizations teaming up Wednesday for a community blood drive.
The John P. Thayer YMCA in Uptown Columbus along with the American Red Cross joined forces for a good cause.
With May being Stroke Awareness Month, organizers say now is a good time to donate.
"The need is always constant and its always appreciated but pacifically right now the need is very great. It's a big time for the YMCA to be involved in blood donations and partner with the Red Cross through United Way," said Scott Balkcum, Program Director of Columbus YMCA.
The organizations plan to raffle off a visa gift card if they reach their goal of 33 people
