COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Today is going to be a mostly cloudy day with isolated showers through lunchtime with a bit more shower and storm activity expected after lunch.

A higher rain chance moves in to the picture early tomorrow morning which will drive rainfall totals up. This could cause some flooding problems around the area so please be alert. There is a 'flash flood watch' in effect from this afternoon through Wednesday for most of the WTVM viewing area. Rain chances stay high through Wednesday with drier conditions moving in by Thursday.

Temperatures will be cooler because of the rain. You can expect highs in the 70s beginning Tuesday and going through Thursday.

Looking ahead to Memorial Day weekend - we'll start dry with a low shot of rain returning Sunday and Monday. Temperatures will return to the mid to upper 80s for afternoon highs.

I hope you have a chance to tune in to the TV side for more on this rainy weather. We'll also be the first to alert you to changes for our Memorial Day weekend weather in our 9-day planner! You can also stream us LIVE on the weather app and follow Storm Team 9 on Facebook and Twitter.
