COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A Columbus police officer submits a letter of resignation six months after he shot three teens during a high-speed chase, killing one of them.

Major J.D. Hawk confirms to WTVM that Officer Allan Brown is still working with the department, but did not reveal Brown's last day on the job.

The move also comes on the heels of a Russell County grand jury clearing Brown of any wrongdoing.

On November 6, 2016, 17-year-old Christian Redwine was shot and killed and two others injured.
