Columbus, Savannah among best cities for young IT professionals

(WTVM) – With spring graduation over for most, it is time for those newly college graduates to take those things they’ve learned in the classroom and apply them to the real world.

According to personal finance experts at The Balance, it takes college graduates an average of 6 months to find a job. If you’re entering the workforce for the first time, the journey from “undergrad” to “gainfully employed” isn’t always easy.

The IT profession is a steadily growing business and there is a big demand for IT technicians.

The list of 2017 Best Cities for young IT professionals has been released.

Savannah came in at number two while Columbus was ranked the fifth best city. San Antonio, TX was the number one city of young IT professionals.

For the list, analysts gathered data on 542 U.S. cities, then compiled a comprehensive ranking based on available IT jobs, comparative salary, cost of living, and average age.
