COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A rape suspect appeared in Recorders Court this afternoon.

Dalwyon Javelle Perry, 18, of Columbus is charged with felony rape.  Perry pled not guilty.

Judge Mary Buckner ordered that Perry be held without bond and the case was bound over to Superior Court.

In court Tuesday, Detective Ronald Miller testified that the victim told him that Perry raped her during a party on April 26 that was held at a home located on the 2800 block of Buena Vista Road.

Detective Miller says that the victim told him after she had been drinking that she went to a bedroom upstairs to lay down.

The victim claims that Perry later came into the bedroom laid down next her. The victim says he removed her shorts and panties and then sexually assaulted her.
