COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Dixie Kwik Café, a new restaurant with a tradition of Southern food held a soft opening May 25 and will hold their grand opening June 1.

Dixie Kwik does not fry food so that they can take on a healthy approach.

The restaurant located on Woodruff Road will be open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Owner, Ted Duboise, and his daughter Kristen are happy to be running this restaurant because it is a dream come true.

"We wanted to give a variety of choices so that people could eat more than once of something different if they wanted too, or they can eat the same thing if they wanted too. Some of the items we will have twice a week, baked chicken -- we will have 3 times a week. So it gives you a variety something that you are familiar with, but then again you may want to switch it up.”

Both say they are excited to be here in Columbus.
