FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) – People were lining up for the dedication of the 12th Infantry Regiment Monument at the National Infantry Museum Wednesday.
Larry Walter, Honorary Sergeant Major of the 12th Infantry Regiment was the guest speaker.
Also attending was representatives of two active duty battalions. The monument is a reminder of the sacrifices made by the infantrymen of the 12th Infantry Regiment to protect and preserve freedom for Americans and people around the world.
"This is a monument for our past our present and our future generation of soldiers and most importantly our families," said Bob Babcock, President of 4th Inf. Div. Association.
The names of the seven Medal of Honor recipients of the 12th Infantry Regiment are on the monument.
The ceremony was at the National Infantry Museum's walk of honor.
