A vehicle collision at U.S. 45 and Shelton Beach Road was how a police chase ended in Prichard Saturday afternoon.

Melanie Baldwin with the City of Prichard said LaDarren Dixon, who she said was the driver of a stolen car that was pursued by Prichard Police, was arrested.

It began with a routine traffic stop near W.D. Robbins Elementary School on Main Street, between 4 and 4:30 p.m. Dixon was pulled over after the car was reported stolen and seen by Prichard Police, Baldwin said.

Dixon exited the car and fled on foot as the stolen car collided with another vehicle. Dixon was captured by Prichard law enforcement and will be transported to Mobile County Metro Jail, Baldwin said.

The collision happened at Highway 45 and Shelton Beach Road, Baldwin said. She the victims of the car wreck were transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
