MPD Overnight Recap: Someone removes Target window glass, uses torch to break into ATM

MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

Money was stolen from an ATM inside the Target store on Schillinger Road.

It happened at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday, at 790 Schillinger Road South, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Police say an unknown suspect removed the front glass of the store and entered. The suspect then used a torch to gain access to an ATM and removed money from the machine before leaving the location, police said.

Robbery 1st

On Thursday, September 14, 2017 at approximately 10:24 a.m., officers responded to the Hancock Bank located at 2110 Demetropolis Road in reference to a bank robbery. The victim stated that an unknown male suspect handed her a letter demanding money and then pulled out a handgun. The victim complied and the suspect left the location.

UPDATE: Officers were able to apprehend 55-year-old Gregory Owens at the Warren Inn located at 6501 Airport Boulevard at approximately 10:30 p.m. Owens was later arrested and charged with Robbery 1st and Certain Persons Forbidden to Carry a Handgun.

Theft of Property 1st (x3), Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle (x2), Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Burglary Tools

On Thursday, September 14, 2017 at approximately 2:42 p.m., officers responded to the Grandview Apartments located at 6151 Marina Drive South in reference to a wanted suspect. Officers observed Matthew Dees, 26, in a reported stolen vehicle. Dees was taken into custody and interviewed. Dees was later charged with following cases:

9/2/17- Theft of Property 1st (Vehicle) 5660 Tillman’s Corner Pkwy (Comfort Suites)

9/9/17- Theft of Property 1st (Vehicle) 6283 Rangeline Road (Hydradyne Hydralics)

9/14/17- Theft of Property 1st (Vehicle) 6225 Rangeline Road (Advance Disposal Service Gulfcoast)

9/14/17- Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle 6225 Rangeline Road (Advance Disposal Service Gulfcoast)

9/14/17- Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle 6225 Rangeline Road (Advance Disposal Service Gulfcoast)

Theft of Property 1st

On Thursday, September 14, 2017 at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers located a stolen vehicle in the 7300 block of Bellingrath Road. Officers detained Christina Rotter, 33. The vehicle had been reported stolen from the Lowes located at 4401 Rangeline Road. Rotter was later arrested and transported to Mobile County metro Jail.

Shooting Into an Occupied Dwelling

On Thursday, September 14, 2017 at approximately 9:40 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Donald Street in reference to shots fired. The victim stated that while inside of her residence she heard multiple gun shots fired through the front room window. The victim stated that a known male suspect drove up to the residence and fired into the residence several times and then left the location. No one was injured in the incident.

Shooting Into an Occupied Dwelling

On Thursday, September 14, 2017 at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Redmond Street in reference to shots fired. The victim stated that she was inside of her residence when several shots entered through the front door. The victim’s vehicle had also been damaged by a brick being thrown through the windshield. No one was injured in the incident.
