MPD Overnight Recap: Two Stop Convenience Store robbed

This is a part of the overnight crime report distributed by the Mobile Police Department. These crimes occurred September 19-20, 2017.

Burglary 3rd  

On Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at approximately 4:00 a.m., officers were in the area of Duval Street and Houston Street when they encountered Tommy Jackson, 56. Jackson dropped the items that he was carrying and fled on foot. Officers were able to apprehend Jackson and detained him. The investigation revealed that the items Jackson had were stolen from a burglary at the Gulf Coast pawn and jewelry located at 1857 Duval Street. Jackson was later arrested and taken to Mobile County Metro Jail.

Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle, Possession of Burglary Tools

On Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers responded to the Comfort Suites located at 5660 Tillman’s Corner Pkwy in reference to a vehicle burglary. The victim stated that an unknown suspect cut the lock to his enclosed trailer and removed security cameras and amplifiers and fled the scene. Officers were able to detain Jonathan Nolan, 26 in the 9300 block of Beverly Road. Nolan was stopped earlier by officers carrying security cameras. Nolan was later arrested and taken to Mobile County Metro Jail.

Burglary 3rd

On Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at approximately 1:00 p.m., officers responded to the 3000 block of Bay Front Road in reference to a residential burglary alarm. Officers arrived and noticed that an unknown suspect (s) attempted to break into the residence by breaking the window to the rear of the residence. Officers were able to located three juvenile suspects after further investigation. All suspects were arrested and transported to Strickland Youth Center.

Robbery 1st

On Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at approximately 9:55 p.m., officers responded to the Two Stop Convenience Store located at 2166 Wagner Street in reference to a commercial robbery. The victim stated that an unknown male suspect entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money from the register in which he complied and the suspect left the location.

Homicide

On Thursday, September 20, 2017 at approximately 6:01 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of North Ann Street in reference to one down. Upon officers arrival they observed a male down at the residence. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene and then transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
