MPD Overnight Recap: Woman sets church van on fire

MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

This is a part of the overnight crime report distributed by the Mobile Police Department. These crimes occurred September 21-22, 2017.

Homicide

On Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at approximately 12:26 a.m. Mobile Police were dispatched to 400 block of Gulfwood Drive East in reference to one down. Upon arrival police entered the residence and located two deceased males inside of the residence.

Update: Through the course of this investigation 21-year-old Larry Jackson was identified as a suspect. Larry Jackson was located and transported to Mobile Police Headquarters. Jackson was arrested for two counts of Murder and one count of Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling. Jackson was transported to Mobile County Metro Jail.

Theft of Property 4th

On Thursday, September 21, 2017 at approximately 10:45 a.m., officers were in the area of Dauphin Street when the victim flagged them down. The victim stated that a known suspect took an envelope containing money from the counter. Officers were able to located Jerry Williams, 60, in the area of Scott Street and Dauphin Street. Williams was later arrested and taken to Mobile County Metro Jail.

Rape 1st, Sexual Abuse 1st

On Thursday, September 21, 2017 at approximately 12:15 p.m., officers responded to a domestic complaint. The victim stated that a known suspect physically assaulted her on September, 18, 2017 in the 700 block of Monday Street and has continued to call her. The victim also stated that she had warrants. Officers took the victim into custody. Alexis Niles, 20, was later arrested and taken to Mobile County Metro Jail.

Assault 2nd

On Thursday, September 21, 2017 at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers responded to the 2900 block of Charmingdale Drive in reference to one shot. The victim stated that he got into a physical confrontation with a known suspect while moving out of the residence. The suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the arm and left the location. The victim was transported to the hospital.

Criminal Mischief 1st

On Thursday, September 21, 2017 at approximately 9:20 p.m., officers responded to the Ark of Safety Church in reference to a criminal mischief complaint. The victim stated that Shereka Cabble, 34, damaged the church van. Officers observed that the vehicle had been set on fire. Officers were able to locate Cabble in the 2700 block of Esau Street. Cabble was later arrested and taken to Mobile County Metro Jail.

Domestic Violence 3rd

On Friday, September 22, 2017 at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the 7900 block of Bellingrath Road in reference to a domestic complaint. The victim stated that Sara Drinkard, 31, attempted to stab him with a knife and screw driver. The victim suffered minor injuries to his hand and arm.

Theft of Property 1st

On Friday, September 22, 2017 at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers responded to the Boo Radley’s located at 274 Dauphin Street in reference to a theft. The victim stated that an unknown male suspect grabbed her purse while she was attempting to hand it to a friend. The suspect then ran from the location.
