Man dies days after shooting in Mulga; Homicide investigation underway

MULGA, AL (WBRC) -

The Jefferson County Sheriff's office is now investigating a shooting in Mulga as a homicide.

Jeffery Douglas Jones, 52, was found shot in the front seat of a vehicle near the 200 block of 1st Avenue around 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10.

He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and died Monday, according to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. 

Jones was sitting in his car at a home when a passenger in a black Tahoe with tinted windows got out of the vehicle and shot him, investigators say. 

The suspect then fled to the Tahoe.
