AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - Auburn University is in the market for a new athletics director following weeks of alleged violations involving its sports programs.
A six-person advisory committee has been formed to find potential candidates before it makes an official recommendation to Auburn University President, Steven Leath.
"We're excited to see the high caliber of leaders interested in the position," said Leath. "Jay Jacobs deserves great credit for leading Auburn athletics, and his successor can build on a department that's already excelling in many ways. We'll move quickly, but it's more important to do it right."
The advisory committee is made up of former Auburn athletes and coaches.
