Man charged with vehicular homicide following high-speed chase on Whiterock Rd.

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) – An arrest has been made following a high-speed chase that ended in a deadly crash on Whiterock Road in Russell County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirms that 37-year-old Timothy Jerome Marlow of Phenix City is charged vehicular homicide.

A woman in her 40's died following the chase who was the passenger of Marlow's vehicle. Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry says law enforcement officers are unable to identify the woman at this time because her family lives out West.

Helen Saturday says she saw an accident like this coming and she believes the busy highway is dumping speedy drivers onto Whiterock Road and she has seen one too many close calls.

"It's the new thing now everybody wants to go, go, go… everyone needs to slow it down," said Saturday.

The cause of the high-speed chase is still under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Marlow is in the Muscogee County Jail where he is waiting to be sent to the Russell County Jail.
