FIRST TO ALERT: A quiet few days until the COLD air pushes in on NYE. Details here.

(WTVM) - Today the clouds stay in place with a low rain chance staying south of Columbus. Temperatures will top out near 50. Friday and Saturday look to be dry, sunny and comfortable with highs in the mid to upper 50s.

By New Year's Eve, clouds will be on the increase again, and we are still mentioning a 20% coverage of showers late in the day and through the overnight. You may want to have the umbrella on hand if you're heading out for any celebrations! New Year's Day will also feature about a 10% coverage of showers or flurries as the moisture moves out early. This wouldn't amount to much as the coverage should remain low.

Temperatures will drop into the 40s for NYE and NYD.  In fact, look for highs to stay in the upper 30s and lower 40s through Friday of next week with overnight lows in the teens and 20s. Our forecast has a low chance of moisture moving back in late Tuesday through Wednesday which would fall in the form of snow being the cold temperatures are in place. Stay tuned to changes!
