The city of LaGrange has two options for people still looking to recycle their Christmas trees.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is accepting live Christmas trees through Jan. 13 to create fish structures at various locations.

Please make sure the trees have no ornaments, tinsel, or lights on them.

The trees can be dropped off at designated locations in the parking lots of the Yellow Jacket Boat Ramp and Sunny Point Boat Ramp.

Keep Troup Beautiful is also holding its annual “Bring One for the Chipper” event Saturday, Jan. 6 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

They will be accepting live Christmas trees, devoid of lights, tinsel, and ornaments, tires and electronics, excluding televisions.

The event will take place at the Recycling Center on Davis Rd. under the water tower.

Everyone who brings items will receive a free seedling and be entered into a drawing for a gift basket.

“Bring your electronics, bring your trees, bring your trash, and any of your recyclables to the Recycling Center on Davis Road,” said Keep Troup Beautiful Chairman Howard Mingo.
