COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Midtown Medical Center in Columbus has been recognized for its exceptional work.
The Pediatric Emergency Department at Midtown Medical Center was selected as one of two training sites in Georgia.
The department will participate in training hospital staff across the state in pediatric emergency services.
Dr. Rebecca Reamy, Chief of Service and pediatric emergency department physician at Midtown Medical Center, has led this initiative locally as the chair of Emergency Medical Services for Children advisory council and has worked to get Columbus Regional Health this distinction.
"This program ultimately looks to help hospitals who aren't peds ready become ready. Our first training session will begin sometime in January and then we will be going out to different hospitals," Dr. Reamy said.
Augusta University Medical Center is the other location that was selected. They will both train other emergency departments across the state.
