Mayor of LaGrange, city council members sworn into office

LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) - The mayor of LaGrange and members of city council were sworn into office Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Mayor Jim Thornton was sworn in for a second four-year term.

District 2 Councilman LeGree McCamey was elected Mayor Pro Tem. The job of Mayor Pro Tem is to assume mayoral duties in the mayor's absence.

District 1 Councilman Dr. Tom Gore was also sworn in for a second four-year term. Gore is in his fourth four-year term overall.

District 1 Councilman Jim Arrington and District 2 Councilman  Nathan Gaskin were both sworn in for their first four-year term.

The newly elected and re-elected city councilmembers' term will expire January 2022.
