PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC) has a new president.
Chancellor Jimmy H. Baker announced Jacqueline Screws has been selected for the role Wednesday during the Alabama Community College System board of trustees meeting.
Screws has more than 30 years of experience in education administration and student affairs. She also served as Dean of Student Affairs and Sparks Campus for Wallace Community College in Dothan for more than 17 years.
"Ms. Screws' career has been dedicated to the success of her students and Chattahoochee Valley will be well-served by her experience," Baker said. "Her proven track record of overseeing a community college campus and her familiarity with the unique needs of two-year colleges and their students make her a tremendous asset to CVCC."
Outside of her roles in education and student affairs, Screws serves on several councils and community boards including the United Way of Barbour County, the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Eufaula, the Eufaula Barbour County Chamber of Commerce, and more.
Screws' position as president of CVCC will begin Feb. 1, 2018.
