FIRST TO ALERT: A wet Friday with TWO shots of cold air moving in

(WTVM) - Light to moderate rainfall is expected through the afternoon with a few areas of heavier rainfall and a couple of thunderstorms moving through, too. We could see some strong wind gusts at 20-25 mph at times this morning.

Watch live:

Temperatures will continue to drop through the day with this evening being in the 50s. The weekend will feature very cold temperatures with 40s for highs and low 30s and 20s for lows.

After only a slight warm-up on Monday, another shot of cold air - colder than what we will see this weekend - will roll in for Tuesday-Thursday of next week. Some spots may stay in the 30s for highs Wednesday with lows in the 10s. Next Friday and Saturday may feature our next chance for rain with slightly warmer weather.

You can stream us LIVE on the weather app starting at 5 PM ET with the latest on that forecast and make sure you follow Storm Team 9 on Facebook and Twitter.  I'll have the latest on your forecast for the big Alabama / Georgia game as well!
