Columbus warming station opens again during winter weather

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A Columbus warming station is opening up again as the area deals with another cold snap.

The Safehouse, located at Rose Hill Methodist Church on Hamilton Road opens at 2:30 p.m. for the homeless or anyone in need of a warm place to stay.

The shelter periodically opens as a warming facility when the temperatures drop.

Safehouse coordinator, Julio Hernandez says no one will be turned away.

The Safehouse will open again on Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. and Thursday afternoon.
