This week's snow could cause another spike in the flu

(WTVM/ABC) - Due to snow and icy roads, families have been cramped in their homes after schools and offices were forced to close for days in a row.

According to our ABC affiliate station in Atlanta, doctors said this week's snow days have created the perfect environment for the virus to build.

Many local families had a full house all week, and doctors said that increases the chances of the virus spreading from one person to another has grown.

Once someone catches a moderate case of the virus, according to the CDC, a more serious problem can occur if an infection sets up spreading through the bloodstream causing organs to shut down.

If you and your family have been in the house the past few days make sure your washing everyone's sheets, sanitizing door handles and washing your hands. This flu season just won't let up.
