COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Average taxpayers will see a significant change when filing 2018 returns.
The new plan includes the standard deduction to increase.
Individual income rates will drop 37 percent and corporate rates will drop from 35 percent to 21 percent.
District 2 Congressman Drew Ferguson says this is the best thing for our economy and taxpayers. He also says you should expect to see a lot more growth.
"Americans are getting more money in their paychecks," Ferguson said. "We are creating a very vibrate business community. As our economy grows and more people work for the economy you're going to see wages increase and more opportunities created for people to pursue what they are passionate about."
Ferguson also says many businesses across the state of Georgia are already investing in their employees. Right here in Columbus - Aflac is just to name one of those businesses.
Ferguson says you will begin to see the numbers in your paycheck look different starting February when the new withholdings come out.
