COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Muscogee Manor's hosted the third annual adult prom for their residents on January 26.

This year they decided to do something with a twist.

Organizers wanted to get away from the traditional prom attire.

The theme was the 50's-70's Sock Hop Era mixed with a New Year’s party, with some of the staff dressing up as well.

"We want our resident's families to realize and to know that it's not just about work here and that this is their home, this is our residents' home and we want them to have fun and to have some of the aspects of home living, something here that they would usually do at home," said Fannie Word, Activities Director of Muscogee Manor.

There were decorations, New Year’s themed refreshments, and a DJ as well.

Employees of Muscogee Manor try to encourage the residents and let them know that once you reach a certain age, life isn't over and they can still have a good time.
