Tollie Strode announces Columbus City Council run

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Tollie Strode announced he plans to run for Columbus City Council at large for District 10.

He made the announcement Saturday afternoon to a crowd of supporters at the Allen Page III Complex.

One of the goals he wants to make as a city councilor includes reducing financial burdens on citizens and business. 

Strode said he wants to restore faith and confidence in city government. 

Election day is May 22nd, and early voting begins April 30th.

    An unknown driver took scrambled, scattered and covered to a whole new level at an Opelika waffle house. This is a photo of the Waffle House on Fox Run Parkway where a car drove into the side of the building earlier today. The manager has confirmed the location is closed for the time being but no word of when the restaurant will reopen. Authorities have not released any information on any possible injuries.
