‘Puppies’ helping puppies: Ezell’s Catfish backing Columbus animal shelter

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus seafood restaurant wants you to 'Dine for Dogs.'

Beginning tomorrow, Feb. 1, Ezell's Catfish will begin donating two cents to PAWS Humane for every hushpuppy ordered by customers.

Ezell's says they usually serve around 60,000 hushpuppies per month.

They now want to use the money to help animals without homes.

"We've been looking for a while for a non-profit commitment to do and we thought Paws went hand and hand. We've been around Columbus for a long time and try to infiltrate our hushpuppy concept with the puppy idea along those lines," says Ezell President Clark Ezell.

The donation campaign will last through the month of February.
