COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Thousands across the country and hundreds across the Chattahoochee Valley are falling victim to the flu during one of the most aggressive seasons in recent years.
Doctors' offices and pharmacies say flu cases keep coming and supplies are getting low.
Medical professionals say many are taking Tamiflu to ease the virus's symptoms. Abby Barnes, a nurse practitioner at Stopwatch Urgent Care in Phenix City says in the four years she's been practicing, this year's flu season has been the most aggressive.
"We are seeing that our numbers have risen significantly this year. I believe last year we probably averaged 60 to 70 patients, and now we are seeing closer to 90 to 120, daily," says Barnes.
Chandler Morgan breaks down the numbers and gives you advice on where to find proper care if you've been diagnosed or think you may have the flu.
