FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) - Fort Benning celebrates tax season with the reopening of Fort Benning Tax Center on post.
The Fort Benning Tax Center will provide assistance to soldiers, retirees, and military family members through the preparation and electronic filing of federal and state income tax returns.
The free service also provides copying of federal and state tax forms, accurate advice to client income tax questions and advice on strategies to reduce personal income tax.
We're excited that we're able to provide a quality free service to our military community. Taxes are very important. Most people are afraid to do their own and we've worked very hard to train our prepares so that we can provide a quality tax return in an efficient timely manner," says Marcia Parker with Fort Benning Tax Center.
Professional tax preparation and advice from the staff are certified by the IRS. Last year, the Tax Center saved Fort Benning soldiers and families more than $1 million in tax preparation fees.
