CSU hosts free creative writing workshops for high school students

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus State University will kick off a series of writing workshops for high school students.

The workshops are free and will begin Saturday, Feb. 3 at the Smith-McCullers House on Stark Avenue in Columbus.

The workshops will cover poetry, screenwriting, playwriting, and other writing styles.

Nick Norwood, director of the Carson McCullers Center says it's a great way for future writers to get their start.

"I have a number of former writers who have gotten jobs in publishing or become published writers. They have also gone on to creative writing graduate programs across the country," says Norwood.

The workshops will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. through March 10.
