LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) -

The Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force executed multiple search and arrest warrants in Lee County, resulting in a seizure of multiple illegal drug substances and a large amount of cash.

Derrick Walker of Smiths Station, AL, Matthew Hall of Beauregard, AL, and Amanda Bunn of Cussetta, AL were all arrested Thursday, Feb. 1 as a result of the bust.

Derrick Walker was charged with three counts of drug trafficking, Hall was charged on 2 counts of drug distribution, and Bunn was charged with possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

In all, ALEA said the task force seized $10,000 cash, 9 firearms, 5 ounces of methamphetamine, 20 fluid ounces of “lean,” 15 grams of marijuana, and 4 combined grams of cocaine base.

Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones sent this statement, “The enforcement actions conducted in Lee County yesterday were the result of on-going investigations into criminal activity involving illegal drugs and firearms. The arrests of individuals suspected of committing a crime and the seizures of controlled substances and firearms are the direct result of the recently activated multi-agency Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force. Joint efforts by multiple agencies in Task Force form bring more resources to the mission of detecting and removing those who pose threats to our communities.”

More arrests are expected to be made in connection to this investigation, but the names of the suspects have not been released.
