AUBURN, AL (WTVM) – The Super Bowl and food go hand in hand and restaurants in Auburn are looking to cash in on the big game with some big crowds.

“We are just ready to rock this place out and have a good time watching the Super Bowl,” said David Esposito, the owner of Halftime Sports Bar in Auburn.

People across the country will enjoy pizza, wings and other “game day food” during the Super Bowl, Esposito says it will be no different for his customers.

“It is a massive undertaking.” Says Esposito, “We will probably go through 80 pounds of chicken. We will probably go through 50 pounds only of beef, wings we will probably go through 40-60 pounds of wings.”

While the game is recognized nationally as one of the biggest sporting events, Esposito says his view is a little different.

“This is a big game, but it is hard to say that it’s bigger than any of our Auburn games. Hopefully, it will be down to the wire,” said Esposito.
