COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus City Council member announced she will seek re-election.
District 7 Councilor Evelyn 'Mimi' Woodson said Tuesday that she will run for the seat again.
She has represented District 7 for the last 16 years. The district covers Uptown Columbus and continues south, staying west of Brown Avenue and Lumpkin Road.
Woodson says after plenty of praying and talks with her friends, she is ready to stick around and fight for the people and businesses of District 7.
"It's a new day and a new mission. We have accomplished a lot but there is still work to do," Woodson says.
