FIRST TO ALERT: Strong storms move through the Valley today

(WTVM) – This morning we're starting with light rain on the radar with storms on the way. The best coverage will start in our northern and western counties in the morning hours, and then move south and east through the afternoon.

Some of those storms may be on the strong side with gusty winds being the primary threats. We can't rule out small hail, minor flooding or an isolated tornado. Stay weather alert through the day! The timing will be 8 AM - 3 PM with rain tapering off through the evening.

Thursday will be much drier with more rain moving in by Friday. A much higher rain chance arrives for the weekend. Expect a 50-70% rain chance for Saturday and Sunday. Isolated thunderstorms are possible on Sunday. Low rain chances and afternoon highs in the 70s take us through most of next week.
