Hearing rescheduled for one of the three suspects involved in Wickham Dr. shooting

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A hearing was rescheduled to Tuesday, Feb. 13 for one of three men previously wanted for a deadly triple shooting in Columbus.

This would have been the second time in less than a week that 35-year-old Carl McClendon will go before a judge.

His attorney asked the court if McClendon's hearing could be moved to next week. Stacy Jackson says by then, a second suspect will be back in Columbus, and both can be in court at the same time.

That second man is Dewayne Jones, who surrendered to authorities in Texas last week, and is being extradited back to Georgia.

McClendon turned himself into Columbus police on Friday, Feb. 2 after he was named as one of three men wanted in a fatal triple shooting at a home on Wickham Drive in January.

On Jan. 24, Columbus police discovered three people shot inside that home. Two people were injured and 24-year-old Lashay Ford was killed.

No word yet on when the third suspect in this case will be named.

McClendon is the only suspect jailed in Muscogee County
