Mary G. Montgomery teacher passes away unexpectedly

Family, friends, students, and staff at Mary G. Montgomery High School are mourning the loss of a beloved teacher. Sarah Allen, 28, unexpectedly passed away earlier this week.

According to her husband Jed Allen, the 28-year-old passed away in their house Monday night, she left two children behind. He told FOX10, "We're just trying to make the best out of it and do what we can to remember Sarah."

He said, "Sarah will be greatly missed, family, the community, the church." It is still unclear how the 28-year-old passed away. Allen's husband said she was in the best shape of her life.

"You know she lived a healthy lifestyle which you know this is why this is such a shock, so unexpected for someone who was so healthy," said Allen.

The same dedication Allen had with her fitness and diet was also given to her students. She was a 10th Grade English Honors teacher. Her colleague, Heather Gaudet said Allen was well-liked by her students.

Gaudet said, "Her energetic way of starting the day, she didn't start the day with English, she instead wanted to know something good about them." The two teachers were close, Gaudet's class was right next to Allen's class.

She told FOX10, "If I was feeling off or if I was feeling tired, I can gain some of her energy by just interacting with her." As family and friends prepare to say goodbye, they want others to remember her passion for life.

"Everybody that knew Sarah, had got a moment with Sarah, that was just the kind of person she was," said Allen's husband.

The family said they are still waiting for her autopsy results. Allen's funeral will be on Saturday in Satsuma. The family is asking the community to keep them in your prayers.
