Hogansville Police Officer resigns after drugs found in patrol car

HOGANSVILLE, GA (WTVM) - The Coweta County Sheriff's Office informed the Hogansville Police Department on Feb. 2 that one of their officers was the subject of an active criminal investigation.

Daniel William Kemp was taken into custody by the Coweta County Sheriff's Office.

Officer Kemp was immediately placed on administrative leave.

During the administrative investigation, Officer Kemp's take-home patrol car was searched and a clear plastic bag of marijuana was found.

On Feb. 8, Officer Kemp resigned from the Hogansville Police Department.

He had been employed with the department since Feb. 2016.
